The first time I felt beautiful. Thanks to the Man who couldn't See Me!!

It was the Year 2013, I was in the class of my lecturer Rajdeep Manwaniji who is visually challenged. I was looking forward to his class. He walked with confidence into the class and took a minute to understand our seating arrangement. He gave us instructions as to how to ask questions (e.g. tell our name before asking anything) and interact with him during the sessions and then started the class... it was an eye opener for me to understand disability from a new perspective.  And then he shared a real-life story and asked us questions, He did not look impressed with the first answer by one of my friends. I was the second one to answer. When I answered he took a long pause and I was wondering if I said something wrong, he then took a few steps toward me and says "Gowthami you are a beautiful person" .  My heart filled with gratitude and tears rolled down. Because all these years I had carried a feeling that I was not beautiful, thanks to the thousand comments I had heard as a

This women who never went to school turned $2500 to 60 Million Dollars!!

The only way you’re successful and happy is when you lead an honest life - Ms. Rose Blumkin From being Pennyless to selling her company for 60 Million Dollars Ms. Rose Blumkin’s story is made up of pure Grit, hard work, and smart work. She never went to school and did not know a word of English when she arrived in the USA with her husband.  She worked hard and smart, saved 2,500 $ and started a furniture store, grew her business, and later sold it to Warren Buffet for 60 Million $  As I read her story three things stood out for me,  1. She never hesitated to ask , even when the majority of the people rejected to give her furniture on credit, she didn’t quit. She kept on seeking until she found a person who would give.  2. The second thing is her love and respect for her customers . Any business that truly cares for its customers and keeps adding value has to thrive. 3. Age is just a number . When she was 95 years old, her grandchildren threw her out of her own company. Being the woman

Top 1 tip to make sure that the time doesn't fly away while your kids are growing up

The best time to relax is when  you don't  have time for it. Sydney J. Harris  Time flies especially when you are a parent. And the best way to catch it is by creating memories with your kids.  ๐Ÿ’ This weekend, make time to play, talk, and listen to your children. My mother-in-law used to sing a folk song when my daughter was little. The song's lyrics said that the household work can wait but playing with my children can't wait . Absolute truth isn't it?  Free play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity for both children and adults! Playtime releases happy hormones, which will not only make us happy but relaxes too!   It would be great if we can play with our children throughout the week, but then we get caught up with so many things. So it's important to make time at least during weekends.  Pick something that is fun to play. it could be playing an indoor game or an outdoor game.  Let the weekend be the time to relax physically and emotionally so that you can beg

Find Your Tribe and Never Feel Lonely!

"A friend is someone who helps you up when you’re down, and if they can’t, they sit beside you and listen."  — Winnie The Pooh. Just imagine!! having a community of such friends and family members, who accept you for who you are! And they like you on your good days and also on cranky days!.๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐Ÿ’• They value your views no matter how different they are from their views!๐Ÿ’›. Sounds awesome, isn't it?  Well, it's possible to have a tribe like this.๐Ÿ™ If you haven't found your tribe yet, find it. And if you can't find it even better, create it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž  It's important to remember the words of Rim John, who said that "You are an average of five people you spend the most time with"! Our environment plays a huge role in defining our personality. Both as children and adults.๐Ÿ˜ฎ As a child, I was very different than most people I knew. And I was often ridiculed for these differences. Only when I grew up did I realize that some qualities people made fun of me for,

Action done well brings relaxation!!๐Ÿ˜‡

"Action done totally brings relaxation; relaxation done totally brings more action." - Shree Rajneesh. This is one of the quotes that made me feel wow! it's deep!๐Ÿ˜‡ What work when done well brings you total joy and relaxation? For me, it's my sessions with my students.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‘ Speaking of the session, in my yesterday's Success blueprint class, we had a discussion regarding forgiveness. I asked my students what should be done if someone keeps hurting them knowingly, again and again. Some felt we should just keep ignoring it, and some felt ignoring it will make things worse, some also thought that we should do the same thing to that person. We are yet to give a conclusion as a team. What I loved is the way students expressed themselves and the way they listened to each other's views even when they felt exactly the opposite.๐Ÿ™.  So now coming back to the awesome quote, what makes you truly relaxed so that you are ready for more action? For me, it's yoga and

Let your children know that you love them even when they make a mistake!!

"One day your child will make a mistake or a bad choice and run to you instead of away from you and at that moment you will know the immense value of peaceful, positive, respectful parenting". L.R. Knost I know that most children turn to their parents when they do a simple or one-time mistake.  But the actual challenge appears when the child makes a major mistake or keeps repeating the same mistake. It becomes difficult for the parent to not lose cool or to forgive. And children feel guilty or fearful and want to hide their mistakes. ๐Ÿ˜ข The fact is, children learn by making mistakes and sometimes they do the same mistake again and again. The reasons could be many, temptations, peer pressure, an easy way out of a situation, procrastination, and more. It’s our duty as parents and teachers to keep our "sunny side up" ๐Ÿ˜‡and guide them until they learn. It's important to let them know that we are not okay with bad behavior and that such behavior will have consequence
