The busiest people have the most leisure!

Everything is easy when you are busy. But nothing is easy when you are lazy. – Swami Vivekanandha

I heard this quote a few years ago from my friend, for a second it had not made much sense but then I had a big bulb-on moment 💡.  This quote has been my friend, every time I felt I didn’t have time for something important. The problem is not the lack of time, but it is always the way I manage my time.

Some of the top successful people I know are the ones who have an abundance of time. 20 years ago, when I worked for indya.com a Star Group of company, as a programmer, I would often write to our awesome CEO Sunil Lulla about improvements we could make to our Channels. Sunil always had time to reply even though I was one of the junior employees. And I would feel appreciated, happy, and inspired to do more 😍.  I see the same quality in ID Foods Founder P.C. Mustafa. He says he is the chief customer care officer for his company and goes through every email and feedback their customer gives. 👍👍

Whenever I feel overwhelmed by the amount of work on my plate I remember the golden words Deepak Chopra gave to a friend of mine. “When you don’t have time, Slow Down”!!  When I heard it for the first time I was like, what?? But then, it made sense. When we slow down we will be able to think clearly and prioritize things. It’s important to pick a speed that is comfortable for us. There is always scope to improve creativity, speed, and efficiency. When we avoid time waster activities and consistently prioritize, we will always have time for the most important things in life.

Make it a day of prioritizing what is important to you!😎🙌

Inspiring journey - from selling books on pavements to owning the biggest and most loved bookshop in Bengaluru

The Bookworm is one of the very well-known book shops in Church street Bengaluru. The founder, Krishna Gowda started from nothing and builds one of the most loved book stores in Bengaluru. He had to start earning right after his PUC  due to challenges at home. He had almost decided to join his uncle who owned an onion shop. But then destiny had other plans. Mayee Gowda from his village invited him to join him in selling books on the pavements of Bengaluru. From selling books on the pavements to becoming the owner of one of the most loved book shops has been an incredible and inspiring journey.👏👏 The business is now 25 years old and it is not a simple task to sustain and grow a business for 25 years. The best thing is that even when he is successful, he has retained the best qualities in him - simple, innovative, humble, and customer oriented. His employees are cheerful and his wife Uma is as awesome as him.😎 Now here is an interesting fact! Mayee Gowda with whom he had started t...

This women who never went to school turned $2500 to 60 Million Dollars!!

The only way you’re successful and happy is when you lead an honest life - Ms. Rose Blumkin From being Pennyless to selling her company for 60 Million Dollars Ms. Rose Blumkin’s story is made up of pure Grit, hard work, and smart work. She never went to school and did not know a word of English when she arrived in the USA with her husband.  She worked hard and smart, saved 2,500 $ and started a furniture store, grew her business, and later sold it to Warren Buffet for 60 Million $  As I read her story three things stood out for me,  1. She never hesitated to ask , even when the majority of the people rejected to give her furniture on credit, she didn’t quit. She kept on seeking until she found a person who would give.  2. The second thing is her love and respect for her customers . Any business that truly cares for its customers and keeps adding value has to thrive. 3. Age is just a number . When she was 95 years old, her grandchildren threw her out of her own compa...

The first time I felt beautiful. Thanks to the Man who couldn't See Me!!

It was the Year 2013, I was in the class of my lecturer Rajdeep Manwaniji who is visually challenged. I was looking forward to his class. He walked with confidence into the class and took a minute to understand our seating arrangement. He gave us instructions as to how to ask questions (e.g. tell our name before asking anything) and interact with him during the sessions and then started the class... it was an eye opener for me to understand disability from a new perspective.  And then he shared a real-life story and asked us questions, He did not look impressed with the first answer by one of my friends. I was the second one to answer. When I answered he took a long pause and I was wondering if I said something wrong, he then took a few steps toward me and says "Gowthami you are a beautiful person" .  My heart filled with gratitude and tears rolled down. Because all these years I had carried a feeling that I was not beautiful, thanks to the thousand comments I had heard ...
